A bill for the establishment of Kaduna State Quality Assurance Authority, 2017 on education before the floor of Kaduna State House of Assembly has passed the second stage.
The purpose of the bill is to enhance the provision of accessible and quality education to citizens of Kaduna State as captured in the state’s development plan.
Shedding more light on bill on the floor of the House, the Majority Leader, Malam Haruna M. A. Inuwa said the bill which is an Executive bill, will tackle challenges as soon as it comes into effect.
The principal officer who is representing Doka Gabasawa constituency added that the Kaduna State Private Schools Board Law No. 7 of 2007 and the quality Assurance Board Law No.6 of 2012 stands repealed thereafter.
In his contribution during the debate on the floor, the House Committee Chairman on Information, Deacon Nuhu Goro Shadalaya said the bill if passed into law and comes into effect, will bring sanity back to the education system in the state.
According to him, issue of education is very important that should not be joked with, as having quality education is important as life itself.
He however urged the relevant committees charged with the responsibility to conduct an indept study on the bill to use an eagle eye and come up with recommendations that will strengthen education in the state.
The Speaker of the House, Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Shagali who presided over the proceedings refered the bill to its House Committee on Education to report back to the house on Thursday 11th May 2017.
The Kaduna State House of Assembly also adopted the report on the bill for a law to provide for pre-medical examination before marriage in Kaduna state presented by its Committee on Health.
