Yunus, A’isha Emerge Bauchi Qur’anic Competition Winners

Bauchi state Qur’anic Recitation Competition ended weekend with the emergence of Amir Yunus and A’isha Musa Gale from Bauchi and Alkaleri Local Government Areas as the overall winners “Gwani and Gwanar Shekara” 1438AH (2017CE) of the event respectively.
The event was held at Darazo, headquarters of the Local Government Area in the state.
The Two overall winners, Amir Yunus and A’isha Musa Gale were turbaned by the State Acting Governor and the Emir of Bauchi, Engr. Nuhu Gidado and Dr. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu respectively amidst crowd that besieged Darazo mini-stadium, venue of the event closing ceremony.
Capping the Gwanin Shekara, Amir Yunus, the Acting Governor, Engr. Nuhu Gidado described the recitation of the Holy Qur’an as a blessing from the Almighty God to the Muslims Ummah and a guide for His bounties to each and every reciter in particular and Muslims generally.
Acting Governor, Engr. Nuhu Gidado told the occasion that the Holy Qur’an as a universal guide bestowed upon the Muslims Ummah by the Creator, is unambiguous in guidance on how each and every Muslim should conduct his/her affairs aright or astray.
“Likewise any individual Muslim who religiously abide by the provisions of the Holy Qur’an will not deviate from the right path, as he/her will have bounties of God here and hereafter” acting Governor said.
Gidado expressed delight for those opportune to participate in the Qur’anic recitation competition and congratulated winners who emerged tall in various categories (Hizb) of the Holy Book, as well as the peaceful conduct of the event.
He also commended the organizing committee under the chairman ship of Dr. Zubairu Abubakar Madaki for the successes recorded, and Darazo Local Government Council for hosting the annual event that drew twelve participants from each of the twenty Local Government Areas of the state.
The Acting Governor reiterated the state government’s determination to continue giving every support and cooperation in organizing the annual event towards boosting Islamic education in the state.
Disclosing winners of the recitation completion, secretary of the Judges sub-committee, Umar Abdullahi Sade named Amir Yunus and A’isha Musa Gale from Bauchi and Alkaleri Local Government Areas as the overall winners of male and female categories for 60 hizb of the Qur’an with tafsir respectively.
They were seconded by Yusuf Idris and Hassana Yusuf Muhammad from Bauchi and Tafawa Balewa Local Government for 60 hizb of the Qur’an without tafsir with each of the above winners carting away a price of brand new car.
Others are winners in the 40hizb of the Qur’an with and without tafsir in both male and female categories with each of the four winners bagging a tricycle popularly known as KEKE-NAPEP.
Altogether, over 200 winners from various categories of the recitation competition that include 2hizb, 10 hizb, 20 hizb and 40hizb for both male and female categories, and 60 hizb with and without tafsir for both sexes won different prizes in the event. Over 10 personalities also received awards for their contributions to the Qur’anic competition since when it started 30 years ago.
