A vulcanizer is now in Police net in Oyo state for allegedly stabbing an 18-year-old mechanic apprentice, Saliman Rafiu, to death with a pair of scissors.
It was learnt that trouble started between the 20-year-old vulcanizer identified as Ezekiel Oyewole on Monday afternoon over allegation by the deceased that the vulcanizer changed his phone battery where they were both charging their phones .
Sources said during the controversy over the whereabouts of the phone battery, the vulcanizer allegedly stabbed the deceased in the neck with a pair of scissors.
The mechanic apprentice was immediately rushed to the Bowen University Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso, where he later gave up the ghost while receiving treatment.
New Nigerian gathered that the corpse of the mechanic apprentice has been deposited at the Bowen University Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso morgue for autopsy.
Oyo state Police Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Adekunle Ajisebutu while confirming the incident in a statement said detectives from the Owode-Ogbomoso police division arrested the suspect.
“The CP, Abiodun Odude, has directed that the case should be transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Iyaganku for diligent investigation and prosecution”.
