As soon as the Federal Roads Authority Bill is passed into law by the Senate, any vehicle that is found carrying mire than 30 tonnes will be sanctioned.
Chairman, Senate Committee on Works, Senator Kabir Gaya expressed this on Tuesday in Abuja, when he led his committee on an oversight function in the North Central, which commenced in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The committee, which began it’s assignment from Zuba/Giri/Gwagwalada/Sheda/ Kwali expressway in the FCT took time to check the road expansion, construction of bridges and alignment done by two contractors Messrs Renold Construction Company RCC and Dantata & Sawoe.
The chairman and other members took their time to assess the progress made so far and of stressed the importance of the road to the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government.
Other members of the committee who contributed excellently are the vice chairman, Senator Clifford I Ordia, Senator Mao Ohanbuwa, Senator Sani Mustapha and clerk of the committee, Mrs. Foluke Ogunbayo.
