The Acting Governor of Taraba State Alhaji Garba Umar, has sworn in the newly apppointed sole administrator for Ibi Local Government with a warning that he should be neutral while discharging his duty.
The Acting Governor gave the warning shortly after the swearing in ceremony of Alhaji Bello Yero at the Government House. Jalingo, Monday. He urged the administrator to work hard and reconcile the people of the area.
Alhaji Garba said every body was aware of the unfortunate incident of the violent clash in the area which claimed  several lives that led to the dissolution of the council by the state House of Assembly.
He said Ibi local Government council was not proactive before and after the conflict, adding that the conflict was avoidable if the council had taken proactive measures.
He said it was discovered that the council had failed to carry  out its duty of protecting  lives and property of the people, hence the state House of Assembly used its legislative power to dissolve the  council and appointed sole administrator in charge of the council.
The Acting governor explained that the state Government had spent huge resources in  maintaining peace and order and therefore it will not fold it arms and allow the breach of the peace.
He, therefore, advised the sole administrator to be non partisan and remain neutral in the discharge of his function  adding that he was only sent there to reconcile the the people and restore confidence among them.
Responding, the sole administrator, Alhaji Bello Yero, assured that with help God he was going to carry out his function of achieving the mission which the state government assigned him.
Alhaji Bello Yero, until his appointment, was a secretary in the state Local Government Service Commission.
