The senior Pastor of the Church, Reverend Yunusa S. Nmadu while shading light on the motive behind the donation said, “The gesture by the Church to provide food items to members of the host community during Ramadan is to demonstrate the Biblical injunction that we should love our neighbours as ourselves.”
He said that it was important for the church to positively impart the lives of the people of the community as the only way to practicalized the command of God from the Bible.
“We know that there are people in the community that require help in this month of Ramadan, which is why we have brought out families to be given the food items. Apart from that, we have also embarked on this to show the world that peace is possible and that we are all peace makers by demonstrating it in practical terms,” he said.
Nmadu commended the reformation in the community resulting in the peaceful coexistence, saying that it was the combined effort of the Church, the traditional ruler and stakeholders.
He stressed, “Even though this community used to be a crisis-prone community, there has been a tremendous improvement over the years due to concerted efforts, guidance, counseling and proper leadership provided by the leaders and village heads.
“I urge other community to emulate this because peace is possible in our state. And in order to deepen the understanding, we are now talking with the leadership of Panteka and the traditional rulers of the community to inculcate the habit of continuous and constructive dialogue with the youths in order to guide them on the right path always.”
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Sarkin Dutse, Alhaji Shaibu Balarabe commended the understanding of the ECWA by consistently assisting his people during the Ramadan fast in the past three years, adding that he inherited the protection of the Church from his late father.
He said, he would not relent in protecting all within his domain as the only way to ensure peace, unity and development in the state and the country as a whole.
