Protest: Oyo CP threatens use of ‘brutal force’ on us  – Cocoa Institute RIN workers alleges
By;  BAYO AKAMO, Ibadan.

Workers of the embattled Cocoa Research Institute Ibadan (CRIN), weekend raised the alarm of an alleged plan by the Oyo State Commissioner of Police  Mr `Leye Oyebade to use “brutal force surpress and repress” the on-going clamour for the removal of the Institute’s Executive Director, Professor Malacky Akoroda.
The workers in a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan and
signed by Chief Yekini Ogunjide and Mr Adebiyi Solomon for the CRIN community, declared that the alleged threat by the CP could instigate “a communal and social crisis in the institute and its neighbouring communities”.
According to the workers, the CP, during a meeting held with their representative on Friday 6th November, 2015 in his office at Eleyele, allegedly threatened to deploy his men to CRIN come Monday 9th November, 2015 “with a view to forcefully suppress a peaceful and massive protest action which we embarked upon on Monday, 2nd November, 2015 against Prof. Akoroda-led administration for its high handedness, attacks on democratic rights, denial of workers, promotion, etc”
