Proffer solutions to exam mass failure – DG NIPSS

The Director General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru near Jos, Prof Tijani Ahmed has told  participants of the institute to proffer workable remedy on how to curtail the increasing mass failure in examinations by Nigerian students.
He made the call at the Institute, while briefing news men on preparations toward graduation of 63 participants of Course 37 scheduled for this Saturday.
According to him, the outgoing participants have carried out a research on why standard of elementary education has fallen in the country, adding “that research will soon unveil to government, on how to tackle failure in national examinations by Nigeria students”.
The DG explained that the institute has graduated 63 out of the 64, from Course  37 originally registered, as it lost one of the participants during the one year study course. Our reporter learnt that the said participants died in a road crash.
“It is on record that since establishment of NIPSS in 1979, we have graduated hundred of Course participants from the institute, carried out several researches on tropical issues.“, he said.
Prof Tijani noted that the  participants of the institutes over the years have contributed their quota in nation building, and have been highly appreciated by governments at all level even when critics has urged the federal government to review its impact on Nigerian Society.
