After eight years stint at the College of Education, Minna in Niger State, Professor Faruk Abdulrashid Haruna has bowed out with his shoulders raised high.
The Provost is reputed to have during his tenure launched the college to global reckoning, established a college campus frequency radio station, built additional hostels for both male and female students of the college.
Amongst his other achievements as Provost includes building high institutional capacity amongst academics, streamlined the academic programmes offered by the college and worked to make the college a force to reckon with.
In his place, the state government has approved the appointment of Professor Yakubu Mohammed Auna as the new Provost of the college.
A Professor of Soil Science, Auna is a teacher, a research fellow and farmer.
Until his appointment, Prof. Yakubu Mohammed Auna was the Deputy Vice Chancellor at the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University in Lapai.
Professor Auna was the Deputy Vice Chancellors Academics. He is coming on board as Provost of the college with his vast knowledge in university administration, exposure as youth development expert, academic and one who is widely travelled on youth development network strategies.
The new college Provost has assumed duties at the college.
He is from Auna in Magama council area of Niger State.
