Peace; IPAC seeks Ekiti residents’ support for Fayose
By; OLADELE ADEDAYO, Ado-Ekiti.
The Ekiti state chapter of the Inter Party Advisory Council of Nigeria (IPAC) has
called on all residents of the State to join hands with the state Governor Mr. Ayo Fayose for the sustenance of peace in the State and beyond.
IPAC, an umbrella body of all registered political parties that participated in the 2015 general elections made the call in a release issued Friday in Ado-Ekiti and signed by its Chairman, Dr. Dele Ekunola and Secretary, Mr. Jimoh Saheed.
“We therefore call on residents of the State, especially government workers to cooperate with the government in its efforts to sustain enduring developments and economic recovery of the State because it is obvious that the governor cannot do it alone,” IPAC said.
The body also commended Governor Fayose for his prudent management of the State resources and restoring peace to the State.
The council also noted the prompt payment of compensation to shop owners and traders affected by the demolition of the Oja Oba Market, Ado-Ekiti, and said the peaceful manner that the demolition was done was commendable.
While describing the economic situation of the country as worrisome, IPAC said it could only take prudent resource management by Fayose for the State to sustained payment of workers salary.
“We are happy that Ekiti is enjoying peace with adequate security of lives and properties.
“We are also happy that in spite of the economic recession, which the federal government itself has admitted, Ekiti State government has been able to sustain payment of workers salary.
“Most importantly, the transparent manner in which the State is being managed by Governor Fayose is unprecedented and commendable” the political body claimed.
