PDP Chair: I’m More Qualified Than Others, Says Secondus

PDP Acting National Chairman, Uche Secondus.
Ahead of Saturday’s December 9 national convention of the opposition Peoples’ Democratic Party [PDP] scheduled for Abuja, an aspirant for the national chairman of the party, Mr. Uche Secondus has claimed that he is the most qualified among all the contestants in the race to the seat.
Secondus in an interactive session with party delegates in Bauchi Wednesday, noted that among aspirants to the chairmanship seat, he is more conversant with the party politics, having held various leadership positions.
He told the delegates, “I deserve support more than any other aspirants at the upcoming Saturday’s convention because I was one-time national acting chairman of the party from 2015 to 2016, national deputy chairman and Rivers state chapter chairman where I was acquainted with leadership experience”.
” My mission if elected is to provide effective leadership and encourage teamwork among members. Party officials at national, states, local governments and the 9, 000 electoral wards we have in the country would be carried along so that we will emerge victorious come 2019 elections”, he said.
The PDP national chairmanship hopeful also promised to deliver the votes of his state of Rivers and the south-south geo-political zone to the party in the 2019 presidential elections.
He also promised that party chieftains and stalwarts that deliver their constituencies would be accorded more recognition when the party forms government under his leadership.
”I appeal to delegates to vote for only an aspirant who can deliver his state and zone to the party in the next 2019 polls. Anybody who cannot deliver his state or zone is not qualified to be elected national chairman of our great party”, Secondus said.
