Uneasy calm is now reigning in Asipa and Ipetumodu communities in Ife-North Local Government area of Osun State over fears of possible reprisal attack from one of the warring communities.
New Nigerian Newspapers Online gathered that following fears of the possible reprisal attack, many of the commercial and private vehicles as well as motorcyclists plying the road linking the warring communities have deserted the road.
Also, armed policemen were sighted mounting surveillance at the road linking the communities searching the few Okada riders said to be plying the road.
It was learnt that market women in the area too have deserted the popular Akinola Market part of which was set ablazed two days ago by the rampaging warring youths .
Our correspondent also gathered that all social functions earlier fixed for the weekend in the troubled zone were hurriedly put on hold as some of the residents in the area have deserted their homes for safety.
Sources in the warring communities hinted that since the fresh hostility reared its head during an inter house sports at the Origbo Community High School, Ipetumodu on Wednesday no fewer than 10 youths have sustained various degrees of gunshot wounds.
The fight between youths from the two communities at the inter house sport completion led to the
communal clash after which Akinola Market was set ablaze.
As at the time of sending this report, it is still a blame game from leaders of the two communities on what caused the crisis.
Meanwhile,Osun state government has asked youths in the two communities to give peace a chance while the  state Police Public Relations Officer Mrs. Folashade Odoro declared that the situation in the warring communities is now under control, saying,
“we have brought the situation under control. We are at the market now and traders are there.”
