Okuku Samuel Cup: Abioye, Awoleye for trials in Sweden

Organisers of the just concluded maiden edition of the West African National Under-19 Football Tournament tagged “Okuku Samuel Cup” have announced that plans are in top gear for Highest Goal Scorer of the tournament, Abioye Oluwatosin Michael and the Most Valuable Player (MVP) Awoleye Wasiu Babatunde to travel to Sweden next month for trials.
According to a statement from the organisers made available to New Nigerian Sports, the two players, while in Sweden will apart from undergoing trials have the opportunity of training in one of the best academies in the Scandinavian country.
The statement further noted that there are also plans for more talented players to benefit from the trials in subsequent editions.
“Presently we’ve plans to send two players for trials in Sweden but we hope to increase the number in subsequent edition,”.
The championship which was held from March 2-16 with 64 football academies from West African countries was concluded at the Loyola College, Ibadan.
