Okugbe; Ace Sport Journalist laid to rest amid tears

Ace sport journalist, Felix Okugbe was Saturday laid to rest in his compound at Sango Otta, Ogun State amid tears by family members, former colleagues, prominent individuals in the sport and journalism industry who paid him glowing tributes.
Okugbe, a former staff of DAAR Communications died two weeks ago at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, due to complications from spinal cord infection.
Prominent among sympathizers who graced the burial are Dr. Rafiu Ladipo and members of his supporters club, former Nigerian Football Association (NFA) Scribe and one time Super Eagles Coach Fani Amun, many colleagues from DAAR Communications led by the General Manager Radio, Mrs. Yewande Iwuoha,  Deputy Managing Director Raypower, Ibiyemi Olufowobi, members of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Lagos State chapter, their Edo and Ogun State counterparts.
Others who witnessed the interment include veteran journalists such as proprietor of Brila FM, Larry Izamoje, Kunle Solaja, former National President of SWAN, Olu Amadasun, Duro Ikazuagbe, Paul Ogazi former NTA Manager. Edo State Football Association was led by its Chairman, Frank Ilamoye. Archery Federation of Nigeria and Nigeria Olympic Committee were also represented.
52 year old Okugbe was President of Archery Federation of Nigeria. One time Chairman of Edo State chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) and was praised for his effort which immensely aided the re-positioning of Archery Federation of Nigeria said to be moribund for many years before his leadership.
The late Okugbe is survived by a wife and three children.
