Odude Now Oyo State Police Commissioner

A new Commissioner of Police has been appointed for Oyo state. He is CP Abiodun Adekunle Odude.
According to a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Adekunle Ajisebutu, CP Odude’s appointment was as result of the retirement of CP Samuel Adegbuyi from the service of the Nigerian Police Force.
SP Ajisebutu in the statement described CP Odude as an officer that “is ready to serve his fatherland and provide adequate security in Oyo state”, saying, the new CP has served in various capacities, including as pioneer staff member of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)
“He has served in intelligence Department, Zone 2, Lagos state as Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the CIID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos state; he was Commissioner of Police, Administration; Department of Finance and Admin, Force Headquarters, Abuja” he said
The new CP, is an alumnus of the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife) where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Demography and statistics in 1983
“He is experienced and a thorough-bred professional and his commitment to duty has earned him many awards and commendations. He is a widely traveled officer and has attended various on-the-job courses both at home and abroad. He is determined to bring his wealth of experience as successful crime fighter to bear on policing the state”, the PPRO added.
