Member of House of Representatives, Hon. Akinfolarin Mayowa at the weekend gave Bursary award to 250 students of tertiary institutions across the country from Odigbo and Ile Oluji Local Governments of Ondo state and financial empowerment to 150 Market Men and Women within his constituency.
Hon. Mayowa who is representing Odigbo and Ile Oluji at the lower Chamber said the gesture is in fulfilment of the year 2017 edition of Akinfolarin Mayowa Foundation charged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the empowerment.
Speaking at the year 2017 Odigbo Day, Hon. Mayowa who was Co_host and Patron of Odigbo National Association reiterated of his commitment to improve the living standard of all and sundry for the overall development of the people’s welfare.
Earlier In her address, the Acting President, Odigbo National Association, Hon. Kehinde Momo appealed to sons and daughters of Odigbo at home and in diaspora to always remember their root by working towards the development of Odigbo Kingdom.
According to her, it is disheartening to know that there are no physical development in terms if economical projects capable of creating jib opportunities for the teaming Youths within Odigbo Kingdom.
Her words, “let us wake up from our slumber, Odigbo is an ancient town, we need to move with the speed of time and development”.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Royal father of Odigbo kingdom, Oba Rufus Olugboyega Akinrinmade Adebusoye 1, commended the inhabitants of Odigbo for their peaceful coexistence at all times.
The Royal Father however implored the people to make generous donations in realisation of the N500 million development fund which is targeted at establishing many developmental projects in the ancient town.
The Chairman of the occasion, Hon Oluwole Oke, who is also representing Obokun and Oriade local governments of Osun state, said Community Day celebration is an innovation to assist government in bringing development to the people at the grassroots.
He however disclosed that the peaceful coexistence that exist within members of the 8th National Assembly has helped in no small measure to enhance progress in all sectors of the nation’s economy.
Other well wishers at the occasion include traditional rulers within and outside Odigbo local government, the National President, Oodua Progressive Congress, Are Abdu Maruff Salami Olanrewju , the President of Tunji Rhema Foundation, Elite Olatunji Francis Moyero , Hon. Stephen Olemija, a member of House of Representative and a host of others.
