The Director General, National Sports Commission (NSC), Malam Alhassan Yakmut has said that Nigeria has rediscovered her brilliance in sports and that the period of lackluster performances are over.
This was contained in a statement made available to New Nigerian Sports and signed by Nnorom Onyebuchi for the deputy director press, NSC.
He expressed this while receiving the management of Tiki Taka Football Development Academy, Sweden led by Michael Idoko in Abuja, adding that Nigeria has never witnessed the revolution that is currently going on in sports, noting that the winning formula has been reinvented.
The Director General remarked that the concept and mission of the Academy is in tandem with that of the Commission in ensuring that grassroots sports are developed, and talents are discovered.
He noted that with the developmental concepts of the academy, “the Commission will leave no stone unturned in signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Tiki Taka and to help the academy gain access across the six geo-political zones to organise sports development for youths”, adding that “NSC will be available to collaborate with the academy”.
Earlier, the founder and owner of Tiki Taka Football Development, Sweden stated that the Academy was designed to give a holistic approach from human capital development in sports to academic excellence of sportsmen, aimed at catering for sports curators, coaches, club managers, etc.
