NCS HANDS OVER 306 CONTAINERS OF NIPP-PHCN TO MINISTER

THE Nigeria Customs Service has handed over a total of 306 containers of NIPP – NEPA equipment recovered from the seaports in Lagos to the Hon. Minister of State on Power, Hajiya Zainab Ibrahim Kuchi at the APM terminal Apapa.
Making the presentation, the Comptroller of Customs, Federal Operations Unit, Zone ‘A’ Lagos, Mr. Dan Ugo, who represented the Customs-Comptroller General at the ceremony, noted that the service would continue to collaborate with the Federal Government in ensuring the success of the transformation of the power sector. He stated that the service would not relent in sourcing for such abandoned NIPP-NEPA containers with a view to notifying the presidential taskforce on power.
A release by the unit’s public relations officer, Uche Ejesieme stated that the minister while receiving the document thanked the Comptroller of Customs for the integrity which the service has demonstrated in jealously guarding the recovered equipment.
She reiterated the determination of the Federal Government to solve the epileptic power situation in the country by ensuring that all the recovered equipment were quickly taken to project sites.
According to the release, the Minister was accompanied on the visit by the chairman of the presidential taskforce on power, Engr. Beks Dagogo Jacks, the permanent secretary of the ministry, Dr. Deere Awosika, Major General Olaniyi and other dignitaries.
