Just few hours to closing ceremony of the third National Youth Games (NYG), ongoing at the University of Ilorin, defending champions, Team Delta have taken lead on the medals table with 15 gold, 12 silver and 18 bronze medals.

From the medal table updated at  4pm on Friday, they unseated Team Ondo who were leading, and are now third position with 10 gold, 10 silver and 11 bronze medals.
Team Akwa Ibom who though were in the top ten, but not among the top three for most part of the festival, are now placed at the second position with 11 gold, 11 silver and 13 bronze medals.
Fourth position is Team Benue with 7  gold, four silver and five bronze medals.
Even though hosts Kwara had same number of medals with Benue, they settle for the fifth position with six gold, six silver and four bronze medals.
Following closely at the sixth position is Team Bayelsa with six gold, four silver and nine bronze medals.
At the seventh spot is Team Kaduna who had a brilliant outing, surpassing their previous records with six gold, four silver and eight bronze medals.
Team Osun also with six gold, four silver and three bronze medals hold forth at the eight spot.
Close neighbours to the hosts, Niger have so far garnered five gold, one silver  and no bronze medals, are currently placed ninth.
Team Ogun are tenth on the table with four gold, four silver and 11 bronze medals.
As it stands, little or no difference is expected on the table as the games closes on Saturday, as athletics round up ten days of action, Delta are still expected to finish tops
