Chairman of the Osun State House of Assembly on Information, Hon Olatunbosun Oyinloye on Friday asked Nigerians to embrace the spirit of dialogue for the country’s democracy to work well.
Hon. Oyinloye made the call in Ibadan while speaking with newsmen at a public lecture and conferment of distinguished services award by the Center for Leadrship and Good Governance to commemorate the 2017 edition of the United Nations International Day of Democracy with the theme “Democracy and Conflict Prevention”, and a lecture titled “Democracy, Good Governance and the Challenges of Leadership” delivered by a former member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon Lanre Agoro.
Hon Oyinloye pointed out that without doubt, democracy has come to stay in Nigeria irrespective of differences in tribes and languages, adding that “it is better to “jaw-jaw than to war-war.”
The Chairman of Osun state House of Assembly Committee on Information declared that the President Muhammadu Buhari led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration in the country has set the machinery in motion to address the issue of restructuring the country in line with the global best practices of federalism.
He then appealed to all Nigerians to cooperate with the ruling APC in the on-going fight against corruption in the country.
