KDHA Denies Impeachment Moves Against el-Rufai

Two months after the Kaduna State House of Assembly passed a vote of confidence on Governor Nasir el-rufai’s administration, the House has been accused of a plan to impeach the Governor.
The State House of Assembly on Wednesday 15th March, 2017 denied the allegation  circulated on social media, describing the publication as false, malicious, mischievous and fabricated lies planned toward causing disaffection between the two arms.
The House resolved that relevant committees liase with the Committee on information and Home Affairs, Security and Intelligent to investigate the malicious and mischievous fabricated story by those who don’t like the development of the state and the existence of the medium ‘Universal Report.net’ in which the story was published, circulated in the social media; and make to face the law if the organization is legal.
The allegation carried in a social media alleged that some members of the state House of Assembly met over the weekend on the possible impeachment of the Governor.
The meeting was said to have taken place over the weekend in the private guest house of a member from Giwa local government and attended by 14 members of the House most of whom were loyalist of Senator Hunkuyi and members from Southern Kaduna.
The decision of the House followed a motion moved by the chairman House Committee on information Deacon Nuhu Goro Shadalafiya on the floor of the House urging the Assembly to take a position on the issue.
In its plenary session presided by the speaker of the House Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Shagali, the lawmakers said there was never a time the House commenced any process of impeachment of the Governor, stressing that the story being circulated in the social media is false and disassociated its self from the publication.
The lawmakers while calling on the members in which constituency the said meeting was held to restated their position on the issue, urged the citizens of the state to continue with their normal activities without any hitch.
In his contribution during the plenary section, Aliyu Samaila Abdullahi, Member representing Giwa constituency where the said meeting took place, said he only saw the story yesterday after the sitting when one of his colleagues showed him.
“The nonsense poster on Whatsap, myself and my colleague disassociate ourselves from this, we have good understanding with the state Governor. There is no any attempt to impeach the Governor Or Speaker of the House and we don’t have any guest house that is private” he stressed.
In their separate contributions, the members said Social medial is not a medium that serious matters should be discuss and that impeachment matters cannot be discussed in bear Parlor or some where else as it is strictly legislative issues that should be discuss by the legislature claiming that they are not aware of the impeachment.
The member suggested that if the organization that published the allegation is a legal entity, investigation should be carried out to locate the said organization and described the allegation as attempt to cause disaffection between the executive and the legislature arm of government.
In their words, “in a democracy setting unless we are seing to be fighting that the people will appreciate that there is an assembly but cooperation for the interest of the citizenry is upper most and is very important and that is the whole mark of the assembly”.
The said impeachable offenses the Governor was accused of included, disrespect for President Buhari for deliberately traveling out of the country and avoiding the President on his return.
It was also said that the Governor was also plotting to takeover President Buhari seat in his absence and refusal to organize prayer or attend one for the President while he was on medical vacation.
Other accusations include; diverting Kaduna state funds to revive the Moribund telecommunication firm of his bother; Intercelular with the sum of 100 million dollars and indiscriminate awards of contracts to Mistresses, cronies and family members without due process worth over 16 billion naira, as well as diversion of bail out funds worth 30 billion naira among others.
