Kaduna workers demand salary increment

State Executive Council of the Nigeria Civil Service Union, Kaduna State Council, rose from its council meeting and issued a communiqué, calling on Kaduna State Government to urgently review the salaries of workers both in the state civil service and the local government service.
The Union argued that the upward review of workers’ salaries became necessary because of the economic impoverishment bedeviling the country.
 
The communique, which was jointly signed by Comrade Ibrahim Kabuk and Comrade James Assoloko read in part: “On a serious note, sec in session called on the State Government to urgently review the salaries of its workers.
“The Union expressed its determination to support the present administration of Governor Nasir El-Rufai and called on its members and the entire workers in the state to give their full supports in order to make Kaduna State great again vis-a-vis, the government should make good policies and monitor its implementation that will benefit workers and the entire people of Kaduna State.
“The SEC in session noted that the decision of the state government on the proposed bill for a law to repeal the Kaduna State pension reform law 2017 and to strengthen the frame work of sustainable contributory pension scheme. Government should maintain the status quo of the commencement date of 1st March, 2018 even though it is not in the interest of workers.
“The ability of the government to remit the past outstanding liabilities to the Pension Fund Administrator (PFA).”
