Kaduna State To Get Contributory Health Management Authority

The bill for a law to establish Kaduna State Contributory Health Management Authority before the State House of Assembly has passed the second reading on the floor of the House and has been referred to its committees for an indepth study.
The bill which had been referred to the House Committees on Health and Judiciary for further legislation action is an executive bill send by Governor Nasir Ahmad El’Rufai.
In their separate contributions on the floor of the House, majority of the members rose in support of the bill, describing it as a welcome development saying that it would go a long way in improving access to health care delivery to civil servants especially the retirees.
According to them, the Contributory Health Management Authority when established would bring succor to civil servants as well as provide a better health care to residents of Kaduna State.
“Kaduna state People deserve qualitative health care, having such establishment will boost the health care delivery in the state thereby safe lives” one of them said.
Speaking with Assembly Correspondents shortly after the Tuesday sitting, the chairman House Committee on information, Deacon Nuhu Goro Shadalafiya said the scheme if established will boost the health conditon of people as one can be attended to at any time as long as you are a registered member of the scheme. According to him, the scheme is already in operation at the federal level and is very beneficially to the common people, bringing it to the state level is a welcome development. He however assured the people of the state that the lawmakers will work hard to ensure that, law governing the establishment of the Authority if established is followed.
