Kaduna: Milton FC Lifts Nimrod Super Cup Soccer Trophy

Milton FC have emerged champions of the maiden edition of Engineer Musa Nimrod Soccer Super Cup, decided at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna on Friday.

They beat hard fighting Bakura FC via penalties which ended 4-3 after a barren draw at the end of regulation time.

The match which was watched by several dignitaries, was characterized with brilliant display of skills by both teams.

Speaking, sponsor of the cup, Engineer Musa Nimrod promised to make it an annual event.

“This is just the beginning. Ours is to develop the youths. I pray that by this time next year, we would converge here for another final,” he said.

When fielding questions from newsmen, Secretary of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON), Abdulrazak Usman, said that several talents were discovered from the competition.

“We discovered five brilliantly talented players from this competition. A team from Lagos has even picked a player from Alausa Babes, one of the teams that participated. His name is Abdulazeez Lawal and he would be leaving for Lagos this weekend,” he added.

Earlier in the third place match, GS Academy beat Arewa FA 1-0.

The winners were presented with a giant trophy and N50,000, while the second and third teams got cash prizes of N30,000 and N20,000 respectively.
