Kaduna Claims Two Medals On Day One, Unilorin VC Woos Athletes

Kaduna State contingent to the National Youth Games has won two bronzé medals in the opening day of the third edition of the National Youth Games on Sunday, at the University of Ilorin.
A judoka, Usman Hassan and Joseph Paul an Ayo player both won two bronze medals on the first day.
Also on the day, thé state cricket female team beat the south south champion, Akwa Ibom state.
The third edition of the games was officially opened by the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Barrister Solomon Dalung at the Univetsity of  Ilorin, Kwara State.
A speech from the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali told the athletes that the institution gives priority to athletes during admission, once they meet the minimum criteria.
He said that the institution is not only committed to academic excellence, but sports is also a core area of focus.
