The Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of traditional rulers, Alhaji (Dr.) Yahaya Abubakar is 65 years old and has been on the exalted throne for fourteen years.
Governor Abubakar Sani Bello in message of felicitation to the traditional ruler, described him as becon and a reliable leader whose wise counsels are timely and priceless.
The Governor attributed his smooth sail in office as Governor of the state to the wise counsels and meticulous advice by the traditional ruler who heads the council of traditional rulers in Niger state.
Governor Bello noted that the monarch is a true father, an icon and a personable fellow whose integrity, understanding and patience were legendary and good to be emulated.
A statement from Governor Bello’s spokesman, Jibrin Baba Ndace, said the traditional ruler who is marking his 14th year on the throne and his 65th birthday, has brought discipline and orderliness to reflect on his grip on his kingdom and that these traits bears fruits of peace and harmony in his domain and beyond.
The Governor while saluting the monarch for clocking 65 years and marking his 14th year anniversary on the throne, noted that there was no better time to reflect on the sterling statesmanship of the monarch than at this time.
He commended the Etsu Nupe for his God fearing disposition, selflessness, integrity and doggedness in pursing the development of his people.
Governor Bello singled out for mention, the monarch’s indomitable love and promotion of peace and security as well as education particularly the education of the girl child for his people which he relentlessly herps on frequently.
He said the Etsu Nupe is a hard working father and a living symbol of humility and purposeful leader who has been making sterling contributions to the state and the country at large.
Governor Bello prayed for longevity of life to the traditional ruler and wished him peaceful reign on the throne.
The message noted that within fourteen years on the throne, Etsu Yahaya Abubakar has added lots of value to the lives of many citizens, made giant strides in the fostering of harmonious coexistence amongst all citizens in his domain and elsewhere.
Yahaya Abubakar was coronated as the 13th Etsu Nupe in 2003. Until his elevation then, he was senior military officer serving on a foreign peace mission.
