Glo Premier League; group urged LMC for equity

By; AYO OJEDOKUN, Lagos.
With two more matches to go in the ongoing 2014/15 Glo Premier League football, stakeholders have  appealed to the League Management Committee (LMC) headed by Mallam Shehu Dikko, not to bend the rules as it concerns El-Kanemi FC on none payment of players salaries.
Some of them who spoke to New Nigerian Sports on condition of anonymity, reminded the LMC that the rule stated that six points should be deducted from any club that fails to pay players salaries at a stipulated time, but wondered why El-Kanemi have not been punished even when the grace period given to the club has expired.
According to them, management of El-Kanemi had on two occasions appealed for extension of time to enable them pay with the governor promising to offset the debt, but none has been fulfilled only for the club to be asking for another extension. The stakeholders however appealed to the LMC not to bend the rules in order not to rubbish the good work they have been doing to reposition the league.
Meanwhile, the football season is expected to come to an end on November 15th, 2015.
