President Muhammadu Buhari landed in Kano via Malam Aminu Kano International Airport for a two-day working visit.
He was received by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, his Jigawa State counterpart, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, the Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II, Minister of Internal Affairs, General Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd) and other top ranking functionaries..
The President paid a courtesy call on the Emir before proceeding to Kurmawa Prisons for another official visit amidst tight security while hundreds of thousands of supporters on motor vehicles and other means of transportation joined the long convoy escorting the President as hundreds of others trekked to the streets in order to catch a glimpse of the visitor, chanting “Nigeria is for Buhari”.
Our correspondent who visited some of the places that the President would commission, reports that security personnel including army, police, karota, civil defence and other para-millitary personnel were attached to ensure the success of the official visit.
