Fayose wants Late General Adeyinka Adebayo Immortalised

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose has called on the Federal Government to immortalise and give a befitting national burial to the former military Governor of the Old Western Region, General Adeyinka Adebayo.
He made the call at the Ekiti State Government House in Ado-Ekiti while playing host to a 9 member Senate delegate on a condolence visit to the state over the demise of the late General.
Governor Fayose argued that the deceased was worthy to be remembered eternally by virtue of his humility, peaceful character and statesmanship qualities as exhibited during his lifetime.
He explained that it was behoves on the Senate to champion the cause for the federal government to organise a deserved national burial for the late General.
Earlier, leader of the Senate delegate, Senator Omotayo Alasoadura said they were in Ekiti to condole with the people of the State on the demise of late General Adeyinka Adebayo whom he described as a gentleman who had left enviable legacies which everyone should aspire to emulate.
Senator Alasoadura reminisenced on the numerous contributions of General Adebayo to Nigeria politics particularly to the Six States that made up South West. He added that his efforts were worthy of national recognition.
The governor thereafter led the delegation on a visit to the home town of the late General Adebayo and Palace of the Oluyin of Iyin Ekiti, Oba Ademola Ajakaye where the monarch appreciated the Senate for their commiseration.
Oba Ajakaye posited that nothing would be too big in dedication to the loving memory of the late General.
Other members of the Senate delegate present at the government house and Oluyin’s Palace are Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, Senator Abiodun Olujimi.
