A suspected fake medical doctor identified as Felix Orimisan has been arrested in Ibadan by men of the Oyo state Police Command.
According to the Oyo state Commissioner of Police, Mr Abiodun Odude, the 40years old man was nabbed by the police for parading himself as a qaulified medical doctor working with the University College Hospital, ( UCH) in Ibadan.
CP Odudu disclosed that the suspect was arrested in Ibadan by men of the Oyo State Police Command at Abanla Village Idi Ayunre Ibadan, while attempting to falsely obtained money from innocent victims, saying, the Modus Operandi of the fake doctor was to visit drug pharmacies under the guise of checking for fake drugs,.
He stressed that the 40year old impostor had visited a drug store at Abanla village and fraudulently collected some drugs and money after which he was arrested by the police at the idi-Ayunre Police Division.”
“After a thorough investigation carried out from our detectives attached to the Criminal investigation and Intelligence Department, it was revealed that the suspect was expelled from the Delta State College Of Medicine due to his poor academic performance.” CP Odude said.
The CP maintained that n
sincce the suspected fake doctor has confessed to the crime he will soon be charge to court of law for further prosecution.” .
Speaking with the journalists the suspected fake Doctor confirmed that he was not trained as a medical doctor,despite that he was admitted to Delta State University Abraka .
” I was not previledged to graduate as a qaulified and satisfied medical doctor and I was arrested while I was cheking into one of the drug store in Abanla village, though on that day I was called by a friend in that area to come and treat someone in that area and afterward I checked in to that drug store presenting myself to them as one of the medical doctor from UCH looking for fake drugs and unknowingly to me the owner of the shop is a police officer’s wife and they called the police which Ied to my arrest.” he said.
The fake medical doctor added “though, I was trained in Ghana as an alternative doctor with which I can cure people of different ailments with herbs after I discovered that I cannot graduated from University for Medicine Study I was admitted for.”.
Among the exhibit recovered from the suspect are: fake NMA identity card, some fake results and documents suspected to have been forged of Stolen, a stethoscopes, a medical overall apron.
According to the fake doctor, the results found with him are meant for his friends that he is using to search for job while the NMA fake ID card found on him was been used by him to tell people that am a qaulified doctor.”
