Dr Sanginga made the call at a two day programme  “African Youth Agripreneurs (AYA) Forum held at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan.
According to the IITA boss, over 12 million African youths graduate every year and that “these youths should encouraged and supported to embrace agriculture”.
He stressed that in doing this, there is the urgent need for governments at all levels in the continent to ensure provision of the much needed enabling environment and amenities on ground .
The IITA DG declared that  despite that it was unfortunate that most funds budgeted for agriculture by the government in some cases ended up in private pockets, there was still the need to go back to land.
