The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) Thursday sealed over 40 additional filling stations across Oyo and Osun states including two stations reportedly owned by a former Governor of Oyo State as filling stations in the two states now sell fuel at between N100 and N110 per litre.
DPRI Inspection team had on Wednesday sealed off no fewer than 50 filling stations across Oyo state.
Most of the affected filling stations were sealed in Oyo town and Ogbomoso in Oyo State as well as in Ile Ife and Ilesha in Osun State respectively.
At Ogbomoso, most of the filling stations in the town were selling fuel above the N87 regulated price leading to the sealing of TDB Global Ventures limited on Ogbomosho-Ilorin road and another one located at Atanda street where the sales attendants were caught selling petrol at N100 per litre and kerosene at N97 per litre.
In Oyo town, Emaayo Golden Investment Limited and Molab International Investment Limited, Ori-aro were sealed by the DPR team for hoarding and selling above N87.
When the team arrived , Ilesa Alesh Raheem Oil filling station at Isare, Ilesha was re-sealed by the combined team of officials of the DPR Ibadan field office and men of the NSCDC, Osun State Command having been sealed off a day earlier only to discover that the DPR seals were broken off.
Trouble started when the teams who had gone on the inspection and subsequent sealing of the premises, a day earlier were physical attacked and assaulted by hoodlums suspected to be acting on the directive of the management of the filling station.
The team also seal off another branch operated by Alesh Raheem at Sawmill, Oke Omiru,  Topmost Petroleum Oke-Omiru, Nikky Choice Energy and Ominu Oil and Gas limited, Irojo, Ilesha
Speaking, the Oyo and Osun state DPR Field Controller, Engineer Olakunle Ogunlana vowed that DPR will not fold its hand and watch economic saboteurs ruin government efforts. “All we are just doing is to ensure people do what is right. Operators and fuel marketers must operate according to government stipulated directives” he stressed.
It will be recalled that the Inspection teams of the Department of Petroleum Resources, Ibadan field office Wednesday sealed off no fewer than 50 filling stations across Oyo state.
According to the team’s Operations Controller, Ibadan field office, Engineer Olakunle Ogunlana the affected filling stations were sealed off for selling above the N87 regulated price as well as for various other offences.
Engineer Ogunlana declared that it was unfortunate that some independent fuel marketers in the state were taken undue advantage of unsuspecting public to sell petrol above the government approved pump price of N87 as well as for hoarding petroleum product to create artificial scarcity across the state.
