Cross River Food Poisoning: Police Nabs 35-yr Old Suspect

A middle aged man (35) years known as Paul Nchui, has been confirmed arrested by the Police in Ogoja.
It would  be recalled that two couples died following an alleged food poisoning in a resturant in Oboso Community in Ogoja local government of Cross River.
Several others were hospitalised in the general hospital. Some are still in difficult situation while only few have been treated and discharges according to medical personnel.
Confirming the story, the Police Public Relations Officer, Irene Ugbo, said in a telephone chat that “Nchui who is from the same community is now in the police net”.
She said ” the suspect is in our custody and is making useful statements which confirms his involvement in the crime”.
A food vendor, Anna Erah and her husband, Edward Erah,  died as they were rushed to the general hospital, Ogoja after eating a meal of fermented cassava and  soup she prepared for sale unknowingly.
It was further gathered that the  the deceased couple left behind five little children with the oldest being twelve years old.
Tension still mounts in Oboso community in Mbubue East in Ogoja local government area of Cross River following this ugly development.
