VICE President Namadi Sambo at the weekend lost his local government area to an opposition party, Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in the local government election held in Kaduna State.
The CPC won chairmanship election in Kaduna North Local Government Area in the council polls which was almost marred by apathy.
It was gathered that the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) however, won in 22 local government areas just as the opposition parties described the election as a hoax.
Our team of reporters who covered the election said that, there was poor turn out of electorate in some areas though the exercise was conducted in a peaceful atmosphere.
According to the report, every polling unit was manned by armed security agents while there was no case of crisis during the exercise.
Some of the electoral officers who spoke to our reporters said there was adequate election materials just as the security was tight.
Meanwhile, at press time yesterday, official results were however, yet to be released by the State Independent Electoral Commission.
