CLEDA Lunch Continental School Motivation Tour

Centre for Learning and Educational Development Advocacy (CLEDA) an NGO has launched a “Continental School Motivational Tour” expected to be ran in 20 African countries.
The Chief Executive Officer of the centre, Mr Daniels Akpan made the disclosure in an interview with Newsmen shortly after launching the programme in Zaria, Kaduna State.
He identified some objectives of the programme to include; impacting directly on 120,000 students, 15,000 teachers and 1,000 schools across African continent and to motivate and empower teachers for quality education service delivery.
He said the centre understand that service delivery will be achieved through training, seminars, workshops and conferences.
According to him this programme will motivate and empower students for excellent academic performance, personal development, business orientation through talks, lectures and training among others.
“It will also build and an online network of teachers, where they can share best practices, ideas and experiences while building skills,” he said.
Akpan said expected outcome of the tour include integration of inspirational and motivational sessions into the educational syllabus and curriculum in secondary schools across Africa.
Others include re-invigorating and re-vibrating the need for quality education service delivery in schools, diversification and emphasis on application over acquisition and emergence of great schools and students fully equipped for personal, community national and continental development.
Akpan observed that the level of development of a nation was directly proportional to the quality of education and the level of youth development in that country.
He stressed the need for Nigeria to rise up to the challenges of setting a pace towards evolving a virile and vibrant African continent through quality education, if it must retain its name as truly giant of Africa.
