In recognition of her contributions to the adoption and embracing of the cashless policy, Interim Management Chairman of Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State, Hajiya Hadiza Ladi Yahuza has received an award from Bizi Mobile Cashless Agency Consultants.

The award ceremony held at the Chikun Local Government Secretariat on Friday, attracted several women groups who thronged the venue in solidarity with the recipient.

Speaking before presenting the award to her, Managing Director/CEO of Bizi Mobile, Alhaji Aminu Bizi said that she was nominated for the award by a team of investigative journalists who did a research covering the 23 local government areas of the state.

He explained that his agency was informed that it was only in her council that all revenues are paid through mobile transactions.

In an interview with newsmen shortly after receiving the award, Hajiya Yahuza dedicated it to the Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai and the ‘hard working’ staff of the local government area.

“I am delighted to receive this award. It is well appreciated. I thank His Excellency, Governor el-Rufai for backing our administration and supporting enabling policy that makes us collect revenue through cashless means.

“With this development, ticketing which is easy to be diverted was phased out and mobile payments were adopted,” she added.

The Chairman explained that so far, she has not regretted the mobile cashless payments because their revenue was up from 30 per cent to 50 per cent.

Commenting on why she was appointed to serve as the Interim Chairman for the third consecutive term, she attributed it to dedication to duty, prudence in managing resources and the ability to carry everyone in the local government area along irrespective of political affiliations.

“The desire to make a difference just like our slogan emphasizes on ‘change’ also has contributed to the confidence reposed on me by His Excellency,” she added.

She said that from the local government area, to the state and the federal level, she is proud to have supported the All Progressives Congress because of the dividends of democracy that are accruing to the ordinary people.

“For instance, in my LGA, we went round to find out the4 basic needs of each of the communities and we are happy that we are meeting them up gradually.

“Some communities that had never felt the impact of government before we came on board are now experiencing the impact of ‘change’,” she added.

She cited an example of Danhonu a community that had never been provided with electricity, which is now having power courtesy of the Chikun LGA.

When asked if she would contest for the upcoming LGA elections in the stare, she said the decision lies with her party, but added that she would quietly retire to her passion of philanthropic activities that would impact on the less privileged, especially women and children.
