Anambra Polls: INEC Warns Staff Against Unprofessional Conduct

The Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Professor Mahmood Yakubu warned the staff to shun all acts of complacency and remain conscientious for the successful conduct of November 18, Anambra Governorship election.

He issued the warning at Akwa,  Anambra State while addressing staff of the commission.

The Chairman stressed that the commission would dismiss erring staff that breach the order.

Professor Yakubu reminded the staff of how the commission has been owning up to its responsibilities and therefore, urge them to exhibit greater commitment to while discharging their duties to ensure free,fair and transparent elections.

He described the upcoming Anambra Governorship election as one of the first season election in the State  in which the governoship election and constituency bye- election in Ndemili North would be conducted together.
It would be recalled that INEC scheduled the conduct of the  State constituency bye- election for November 18, same date with the governorship election and directed that two ballot boxes should be put in place in all polling units within the affected constituency to separately accommodate votes for the two elections.
