His Excellency Umaru Tanko Almakura has called on the Federal Government to see the need to take over the construction of the Awe – Tunga road and the Kwandere – Keffi road embarked upon by the Nasarawa State Government due to their importance to the State and the nation at large.

The Governor Stated that the two roads would be the watershed for development in Nasarawa State, as well as benefit other states, stating that other communities around other states ,would utilize the Awe – Tunda Road while the Keffi – Kwandere road would shave over an hour journey from Lafia to Abuja and as well as serve the Lafia Airport under construction .

Gov. Almakura described the Senate Committee on Works as one of the hardest working committees and a great partner in progress of Nigeria as it works towards providing for the need for basic infrastructure which starts and ends with availability of roads.
