Nasarawa State Government has reiterated its commitment towards ensuring the safety and protecting the interest of Igbos living in the state.
This was disclosed by Chief Ezedinma Chukwunonso at the end of a meeting between the state governor, His Excellency, Umaru Tanko Almakura and the leadership of the Igbo Community in the state.
Chief Chukwunonso, who was the leader of the delegation and one time Special Adviser to the Nasarawa State Governor, said the meeting with the number one man of the state was assuring and satisfactory.
“This meeting is reassuring, as it has given the Igbo community living in the state assurance to continue to live in peace, to continue to do their business without fear of molestation from any quarter. There is no problem in Nasarawa State,” he said.
The igbos in the state commended His Excellency, Umaru Tanko Almakura for his exemplary leadership which has reassured them of their safety within the state.
Describing the Igbo community as peace loving people who would enjoy wherever there is peace; of which they enjoy in Nasarawa state, Ezedinma said Igbo in the state should have nothing to be worried about.
“The Igbos residing in Nasarawa State believe in peace, unity and one Nigeria.
“From the meeting with the governor we have confidence in what he told us and we are satisfied with what he said, besides, the security agencies were also on alert for any development”, the Igbo spokesman added.
