ACF mourns Emir of Borgu

Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has expressed shock over the demise of the Emir of Borgu in Niger state, Alhaji Haliru Muhammad Dantoro, Nkitoro III who died in Germany weekend.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by ACF National Publicity Secretary, Mohammad Ibrahim and made available to New Nigerian in Kaduna.
“ACF learnt with shock and total submission to the will of Allah the death of the Emir of Borgu in Niger state,  HRH Alhaji Haliru Muhammad Dantoro, Nkitoro III, who died in Germany on Friday and was buried yesterday (Sunday) 1st November, 2015 in Borgu in accordance with Islamic rites.
“The late Emir Alhaji Dantoro combined tradition, modernity and devotion to the progress of his people in the areas of agriculture,  education and socioeconomic development.
“The late Emir was well known for his patriotism, promotion of peaceful coexistence of Nigerians irrespective of their religion and ethnicity.
“As former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, during former President Shehu Shagari’s regime, he left an indelible mark in the development of Abuja and would therefore be remembered for his commitment to national service.
“The North and indeed Nigeria have lost one of its great Royal fathers, a bridge builder and a leader who lived a simple and humble life.
 
“ACF commiserates with the Royal family of Borgu Emirate, the Government and the good people of Niger State over the passing of HRH Alhaji Haliru Muhammadu Dantoro, Nkitoro III. May Allah (SWT) grant him eternal peace in Aljannah Firdaus, Amin,” the statement reads.
