Tragedy struck in Agala Success School, Babanla, area of Ibadan, the Oyo state capital when five members of the same family including a prospective Corps Member met their untimely death in a Petrol explosion. New Nigerian gathered that the tragedy struck when the head of the said family (father) was re-fuelling their power generating set during which his wife reportedly approached him holding a burning candle. The petrol was said to have immediately attracted the burning candle resulting in a loud bang of explosion which ravaged the family house with the parents and three children dead including one said to be preparing for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) next batch. Sources said Mrs Adisa and the three children died immediately, while the husband, Mr Adisa died at the emergency unit of the University College Hospital (UCH), on Thursday morning. However, one of the family’s members identified as Boluwatife escaped death as she was sent on an errand to buy MTN recharge card for their father few minutes to the explosion only for her to return and met crowd gathered in front of their house. The late father, the wife and the three children were buried around Babanla area on Thursday evening. ENDS.
