72 year old woman, another docked over alleged N4.7million fraud

A 72year old woman and one other person identified as Rasheed were at the weekend arraigned before an Oyo State Magistrate Court sitting in Iyaganku, Ibadan over alleged N 4.7 million frauds.
The 72year old woman, Julianah Titilope Raimi and Rasheed Adigun were alleged to have obtained money under false pretence.
Arraigning the two accused persons on a three-count charge  of conspiracy to commit felony to wit obtaining money under false pretence and stealing the Officer-in-Charge, Legal, SState Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Iyaganku, DSP Fawole O. Bukola in the charge sheet stated that the accused and others now at large committed the offence  in November 2012 at Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.
He stressed that the accused person did allegedly conspire to commit felony to wit obtaining money under false pretence and thereby committed an offence contrary and punishable under Section 516 of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol. 11 Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria 2000.
In the charge sheet number MI/750/C2015, count two, it was stated that “Julianah Titilope Raimi, Rasheed Adigun on the same date , time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district  did unlawfully obtain the sum of N4,720,000 from one Olusekun Majekayomi under the pretence that you have a plot of land at Total Garden, Ibadan which Oyo State Government gave to you for sale which you know to be false and thereby committed and offence contrary to and punishable under Section 419 of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol. 1 Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria 2000.
“That you Julianah Titilope Raimi, Rasheed Adigun on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district did steal N4,720,000 property of one Olusegun Majekayomi and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 363 and punishable under Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol. 11, Laws of Oyo State, Nigeria 2000”.
The two accused persons pleaded not guilty while the case was adjourned till December 10 for hearing.
