30 Die, 10 Seriously Injured In Lagos- Ibadan Expressway Crash

No fewer than 30 people comprising of 29 male adults and 11 female adults met their untimely death in an auto crash that occurred onThursday night along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway

New Nigerian gathered that 10 people also sustained serious injuries in the crash which involved two commercial buses, Mazda E2000 White Color Bus with registration number AKN27XA and Mazda E2000 White Color Bus with registration number SMK959XM.

According to a statement signed by the Oyo state  FRSC Sector Head of Operations, DCC Zyril Zango Matthew, the auto crash was as a result of “Route Violation and aggravated by Speed Violation by both drivers. conveyning 40 passengers.”.

” Two (2) Vehicles: Mazda E2000 White Color Bus with registration AKN27XA and Mazda E2000 White Color Bus with registration SMK959XM were involved in the crash which occurred as a result of Route Violation and aggravated by Speed Violation by both drivers. A total of Forty (40) passengers (29 male adults & 11 female adults) were involved in the crash while 30 passengers (20 male adults & 10 female adults) lost their lives. “

DCC Matthew in the statement titled “Road Traffic Crash Report.” added ” a fatal road traffic crash occurred on Thursday 14th September, 2017 at Kilometre 95 Elebolo, Quarry, along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway by 0830pm.

Sources said the FRSC rescue operations team arrived the scene minutes after the incident, and ended their operations at 2:42 a.m. on Friday.

New Nigerian learnt that the corpses of the 30 dead passenvers have been deposited at the Adeoyo Yemetu Hospital mortuary, Ibadan while those injured were rushed to the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, and Adeoyo Yemetu Hospital for treatment.
