Guber Judgement; Uneasy calm in Oyo as APC, Accord lay claim to imminent victory

The whole of Oyo State and especially the ancient capital city of Ibadan is witnessing uneasy calm as both in camps of the Accord Party (AP) and the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) lay claim to imminent victory in as the state gubernatorial election petition tribunal gives its final judgment this morning Between former Governor Rashidi Ladoja of Accord Party (AP) and Governor Abiola Ajimob of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The Director General, Ladoja Campaign Organisation and former Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Adeolu Adeleke has declared that Accord Party is eagerly awaiting nothing less than victory in today’s judgment by the Justice Mohammed Mayaki-led tribunal.

“We are expecting the declaration of Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja as the duly elected governor by the tribunal in the April 11, 2015 governorship election,” he said.

Also, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Director of Publicity and Strategy in the state, Comrade Wale Shadare has said that Governor Ajimobi and APC are sure of victory in today’s judgment of the tribunal, asserting that Senator Ladoja raised so many issues, that he could not proved before the tribunal.

Senator Ladoja through his lead counsel Chief Richard Ogunwole (SAN), in the petition marked EPT/IB/GOV/22/2015 claimed that he scored the highest number of votes with 25 per cent in 22 of the 33 Local Government Areas of the state and asked the tribunal to declare him winner of the election or order a rerun.

He claimed that election took place in 23 local government areas and in some units in the remaining 10 local governments, and that the election was fraught with non-compliance with the Electoral Act 2010 (As Amended).

Senator Ladoja joined the APC, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state and INEC in the petition.
